 Hi this is ben.
 One of my readers (Lisa)
requested a lego robot bug.
So I made one.
The front part looks like a bug, but
the back part looks more like a flying mining robot.
My mom made cool T-shirts for me and Evan to
wear when we see the last space shuttle launch.
The back of the shirts have the mission number on them.

Lego Bots

I decided to post some lego robots I made today.
These photos are both of a Mechalo corporation
2011 mineroid

These are of a Mechalo corp.
2011 "blue jay"
The peices with holes on the right
fold out and have rockets on them to allow flight.
This is a 2011 Drill Mantis.
I call it that because of how the arms look and It's ability to dig.

Of course, Evan had to use legos too
when he saw me showing mom all those robots.
He calls this one "The Digger"
and is very enthusiastic about the scoop on the left

This is our "photo studio"
most of the photos in this post were taken here.

The galaxy is big!

Since nothing too crafty or cool happened today, I decided to write about something cool
I learned. As well as doing a blog post every time I use the computer, I look at a website
called Science News for Kids and look at one article. Then I tell my mom what I learned.
Here's what I read about today:
apparently the Milky Way is heavier then scientists thought.
It has 4 arms and two of them only contain very young stars and nebulae(I think that is plural for nebula)isn't that cool?

MN Zoo!!

Today, we went to the Minnesota Zoo for somewhere fun Friday.
First, we saw the dolphins, sharks, and seahorses. I think Evan's favorite part was the dolphins
I really love the seahorses and enjoyed looking at them.
Then, we stopped to take a snack break near the entrance of the minnesota trail.
My mom brought the some of the cookies we made on wensday as our snack.
Then we went into the Minnesota trail and saw a bald eagle up close.
After that, we left.

Bye, Ben

PS:sorry about the lack of pictures.I don't know why, but mom didn't bring the camera.

What's cooking wensday!

Hi this is Ben.
yesterday was what's cooking wensday (see "make something monday")
we made reese's peanut butter cup cookies.
This is me,about to eat 6 of the cookies(don't worry
this was fake,I did not actually eat all those,I have only eaten one so far
on the day I wrote this post.
finished cookies (they look like tiny hamburgers
don't they)
 Squish,squish,squishing!!
Again on the mini-burger thing, they really do look like that.
they really only consist of peanut butter cups, an egg, and sea salt.
here I am, about to blenderate the peanut butter cups.
Bye,Ben

Not quite done yet. :(

Sorry I don't have any pictures yet.
since I need to paint in layers to get the detail I wanted,we will be expecting pictures of the
completed model magic day results around sunday.
sorry about the delay.

  Bye,ben

Amy, here, with some in-process photos for your viewing pleasure while you anxiously await the final products!!  =)

Lego dudes in the mold.  Tip: model magic does not come out of silicone molds until it is nearly dry, which took 24 hours for these tiny molds.
We are not great at waiting around here!

Evan's 2011 handprint on the left, Ben's from 2007 on the right.  ♥

Evan stamping letters in the model magic - he LOVED it,
and recognized more letters than I thought he would.

drying, drying, drying.....

Ben, painting stage 1.  I made him change out of his new-ish t-shirt into a "working outside" t-shirt, and he proceeded to get paint on it on purpose because he thinks
"anything white is boring even if it's just a paint shirt."

Evan is definitely more interested in the process than the result...

Ready for stage 2 - look at Ben's awesome Phineas (on the left,
in case it is not all Phineas & Ferb all the time at your house like it is at mine)!

I got the idea for the lego guys here.  I hesitate to even add the link, in case Ashley should see it - I would be so embarassed for her to see my crappy, crappy photos when I admire hers so much!  Some butt kissing should help, though, right?????

Make It Monday

Hi this is ben.
If you're wondering what the title is about,
my mom found this cool summer schedule while looking for crafty monday ideas.
It is:

Make it monday-make a craft
Time to read tuesday-go to the library
What's cooking wensday-Baking day
Be thoughtful Thursday-send a letter,donate something,Etc.
Somewhere fun friday-go to a meuseum, waterpark,or visit someone you know who lives nearby

so today for Make it monday,we did model magic day. I didn't add photos yet because we
still have to paint them. I made phineas (from phineas and ferb,my favorite TV show)
and a craft my mom found where you put clay in the lego minifigure ice cube mold(avalible at the lego store, although my mom bought it online so we're not sure where you can get it)
i'll add pics tomorrow after they have dried and been painted.

Bye,ben

Catching up

Hi this is Ben. I have left a big gap in CM information. This post is going to cover most of that gap. first of all,my grandma and step-grandpa and their dog Kodi will be leaving on monday.  I had a great time with them while they were over.Kodi even slept over at our house one night
Kodi and Evan having fun!

On wensday the 15th we visited the Jackson street roundhouse.
This is a snow plow train car that I really liked. It does not have its own engine, and needs another train to push it. the panels on the side with the diagonal peices fold out to plow a wider area. the peice on top with the windows on it allowed the operators a clear view of the tracks ahead.
we got to go into a special room you can only go into with a person who works there.
there was really cool trains that were being restored there, and it was really amazing.
today,we went to the como zoo and conservatory.the picture above is of me , my dad and evan.my favorite part was the Japanese garden. It must have been hard to design, because
it was set up so that in each flowerbed, their is only one kind of flower in each bed would be  blooming at one time so that a person wouldn't be overwhelmed.also, the Japanese belived that every rock had a spirit and a face,so the designer had to choose what side of a rock to place where. Bye,Ben

Yesterday,I made peanut butter rice crispie bars with barely any help from my mom.
on monday we tie-died shirts.
also,I came up with this variation of E-I-E-I-O:
old mcdonald had a farm,E-I-E-I-O
on his farm he had a crop circle,E-I-UFO
like it ???
